Is this a good Halloween idea?

I dont have any children, but I thought incorporating childrens tv characters into Halloween this year would be cute. my yard is all decorated in Disney, Elmo, Barney, etc..halloween ornaments , some of it is kid friendly, some of it a little spooky but not bad. we really went all out this year. I will be having a few people as well as myself in my home giving out candy as popular characters. We are going to rent the nice mascot looking costumes with big pull over heads. (they are professionally washed, in case any neg comments come about haha) So I have a few questions...which FIVE kid tv characters should we rent..which are the most popular? they have a very wide selection..from disney to pbs...etc... Also, what age group do you think we should put the "heads" on for? We can see the people coming up from the entry window...
